Description

When Hudson encounters a lost puppy, our hero takes him on a whirlwind tour of Paris—on foot, Vespa, and bateau mouche—to find his home. What will Hudson do when he realizes the puppy is homeless? This sweet tale of empathy and friendship has lots of colorful Paris scenery, French vocabulary, and includes a petit dictionnaire of French words and phrase.

About the Author

Jackie Clark Mancuso is the author and illustrator of a picture book series about Hudson, an American dog living in Paris. The books have been praised by Kirkus Reviews and Publishers Weekly for their humor and originality, featured in museum bookstores to introduce children to art, and singled out by librarians and teachers for their positive role models and educational value in early language learning. Like many children's classics, the books are as much appreciated by adults as by children. Visit jackiemancuso.com and @jackieclarkmancuso on Instagram.

“Whether they're whizzing by on a scooter, with fur and ears flying in the wind, or walking slowly with slumped shoulders and lowered heads, we always know exactly how they feel. Kids will delight in seeing the newly adopted puppy finally smiling on the last page.” —Regan McMahon, Common Sense Media

"Mancuso's 'Paris-Chien' books are a rare breed indeed: something that children and adults can both love and appreciate equally. Her rich, swirling illustrations adorn the pages, recalling les Fauves like Matisse and Derain with some modern twists of Hockney. Each one, like the city they depict, is a 'moveable feast' on which the eye may linger." —Interview, Palisadian-Post, Pacific Palisades, CA

"Her implacable puppy protagonists, with their loyal souls and contagious joie de vivre, are impossible not to love." —Interview, Palisadian-Post, Pacific Palisades, CA
