Description

Jessie Allen's suicide attempt last year got her labeled as the Suicide Girl in her high school, and the fallout from that attempt has created unexpected drama in her life. The Mean Girls at Hollywood High are hateful and don't like that she is dating the campus "hot jock" Jimmy Becker. At home, her relationship with her parents is difficult. In her therapist's office, her vague answers do nothing to help her explain her previous behavior. Things are dreary until one day Jessie is visited by an alien-type being who claims to be a relative in her far-flung future. Called The Granddaughter, she shows Jessie that life is not the drag she believes it to be, but a hopeful place where she can find love and acceptance in the most surprising ways.
