Bernard Leach was as renowned in Japan and the East as in Europe and North America as an artist-craftsman and as a thinker. Bernard Leach (1887–1979) was a British studio potter and art teacher. He founded the Leach Pottery in St. Ives and taught some of the most celebrated ceramicists of the twentieth century.
