Help prevent problem behaviors and actually increase time available for academics by teaching social skills to students.

Tools for Teaching Social Skills in School provides teachers with:
    • Lesson plans with activities that can be adapted for students in grades K-12. The plans include suggestions for discussion, activities, journaling, role play, and reading.
    • Reproducible skill pages that you can hand out or post in the classroom as reminders to students and coupons you can use to reward good behavior.
    • Techniques for blending the teaching of social skills into academic lessons in reading, writing, math, and social studies.
    • Ideas for using bulletin board displays and individual student graphs to motivate and monitor behavior.
    • Strategies for increasing parent support.

An ideal companion to More Tools for Teaching Social Skills in School, this workbook targets 28 social skills including following instructions, staying on task, working with others, accepting criticism, listening, ignoring distractions, making a good choice, sharing, and showing respect. The authors train other teachers, administrators, and other school staff across the United States in the Boys Town Education Model.

Here's what teachers who have used the lesson plans in their classrooms have to say about Tools for Teaching Social Skills in School:

The best thing about this book is that each lesson that is given is complete and foolproof. If you follow what to do the lesson is sure to be a big hit

I truly loved these lessons. It was enjoyable because they were so easy to follow and truly effective with the students. It was very rewarding to see the students using these strategies.

I found many ideas that I am using, with different twists, some new ideas, and lots of new books to add to my library that will help my students deal with positive behaviors.

Sometimes, teachers think that they have no more solutions to problems, but this book provides new insightful ways to help students in need.
