Gasoline - the most common petroleum product comes in several types or grades. Straight-run gasoline is generated solely by crude oil distillation. Crack gasoline, derived by thermal or catalytic breaking of heavier oil fractions, accounts for the majority of gasoline used in automobile and aviation. Straight-run gasoline, fractured gasoline, reformed and synthetic gasoline, and additives are used to create a wide range of gasoline kinds.

About the Author


Mastane Narimani has earned her Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering from the University of Islamic Azad, Central Tehran Branch. She has been working on environmental impact of fossil fuels for almost 4 years. Mastane is going to pursue her Master's degree in the field of environmental engineering in Germany. Ahmad Fayyazbakhsh had earned his Master's degree in Chemical Engineering before attending Tomas Bata University in 2020 as a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Protection Engineering. Ahmad has published several articles and a book in this area. Moreover, he has three under-review articles (cooperative articles with different universities such as Yale and Arizona State Universities) on this subject. Chia-Hung Su received his PhD in chemical engineering from National Tsing Hua University in 2007. In 2009, he joined Ming Chi University of Technology where he is now professor and head of the Department of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Su has published over 100 technical papers, and his teaching and research interests are in the areas of process systems and control engineering for microbial, biochemical and complex chemical processes.
