Back to topDemocracy, Politics and Violence in Kerala: An Ethnographic Study (Paperback)
Description
On many occasions, I was advised by my research supervisor, well-wishers, and friends to be very cautious in conducting this study. Perhaps, politics and violence were seemed as risky to be studied, because there are many gray areas where actual activities were planned and orchestrated in politics. But, not much unexpected had happened to me, as I am already careful in the approach. In fact, the leaders and ordinary workers across parties helped me and provided me all assistance. I was gifted enough to have a research supervisor in Dr. Jesurathnam Devarapalli, Associate Professor of Anthropology, Pondicherry University. I am indebted to him for completing this research and for many other reasons as well. He offered me freedom to spend more time in the field. His insightful guidance and meticulous editing deserve more than words. I thank him deeply for the guidance, I received from him during every stage of my work.
