Despite having a relatively recent history, the Urdu short story, or afsaana, has grown to become one of the most important literary subgenres in Urdu literature. This book 'Husn ka Karb (Grief of the beauty)' contains selected short stories from contemporary Urdu fiction which were published in some issues of "Qirtaas" magazine.
